A proton-recoil track imaging system for fast neutrons: the RIPTIDE detector

چکیده

Fast neutron detection is often based on the neutron-proton elastic scattering reaction: ionization caused by recoil protons in a hydrogenous material constitutes basic information for design and development of class detectors. Although experimental techniques have continuously improved, proton-recoil track imaging remains still at frontier n-detection systems, due to high photon sensitivity required. Several state-of-the-art approaches tracking using n-p single double - referred as Recoil Proton Track Imaging (RPTI) can be found literature. So far, they showed limits terms efficiency, complexity, cost, implementation. In order address some these deficiencies, we proposed RIPTIDE novel recoil-proton detector which light output produced fast scintillator used perform complete reconstruction space time interaction events. The idea viable thanks dramatic advances low noise counting achieved last decade new scientific CMOS cameras well pixel sensors, like Timepix or MIMOSIS. this contribution, report concept: Geant4 Monte Carlo simulations, collection tests approach image readout, processing analysis.

Proton beam dosimetry by CR-39 track-etched detector

Background: High and intermediate energy protons are not able to form a track in a solid state nuclear track detector (SSNTD) directly. However, such tracks can be formed through secondary particles created during primary radiation nuclear reactions in a SSNTD. Materials and Methods: The protons with primary energies of 9.6 and 30 MeV available at the cyclotron accelerator with corresponding lo...

A recoil detector for the measurement of antiproton-proton elastic scattering at angles close to 90◦

The design and construction of a recoil detector for the measurement of recoil protons of antiproton-proton elastic scattering at scattering angles close to 90◦ are described. The performance of the recoil detector has been tested in the laboratory with radioactive sources and at COSY with proton beams by measuring proton-proton elastic scattering. The results of laboratory tests and commission...

A Fast, Robust, Automatic Blink Detector

Introduction “Blink” is defined as closing and opening of the eyes in a small duration of time. In this study, we aimed to introduce a fast, robust, vision-based approach for blink detection. Materials and Methods This approach consists of two steps. In the first step, the subject’s face is localized every second and with the first blink, the system detects the eye’s location and creates an ope...
